About Lanyon

Lanyon is the leading provider of content and spend management solutions to the travel, transportation and hospitality industries. We believe that our people are the reason we succeed. Many of them come from those industries and their knowledge, their focus and commitment is the intangible connection between our customers and our services. Founded by Nick Lanyon in 1984, in London, England, the history of Lanyon is that of a respected neutral vendor of technology solutions to increase the efficiency of the marketplace where corporate travel procurement departments, travel management companies, travel suppliers, such as hotel chains, and the Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) do their business.  We help most of the distribution channels in this marketplace.

Lanyon is privately held, self-funded and profitable in each of the last seven years with it's corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. We have thus been able to continue our strong growth both organically, by investing to develop new solutions, and by acquisition.

Executive Team

A substantial part of the intangible capital of Lanyon is represented in its senior management team. The unique blend of hospitality industry experience, operational and financial discipline and vision that each member provides has translated into the success of Lanyon.

David Bonnette, Chief Executive Officer

David Bonnette is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lanyon and also serves on its board of directors. In this role, he leads the Company's overall strategy and relentless drive to enable extraordinary results for customers and employees, alike.

Prior to joining Lanyon, Bonnette served as CEO at BigMachines for three years during which time the company achieved record-setting results leading to an acquisition by Oracle. Before that, he held a variety of executive roles at Oracle where he led North American organizations in ERP, CRM, and consulting. Bonnette has worked in the software industry for nearly 20 years while serving on the boards of directors of both BigMachines and Brainware (acquired by Lexmark).

Bonnette is a member of YPO, serves on the guild board of the Boys and Girls Club, and regularly mentors entrepreneurs. He lives in the Dallas area with his wife and three children.

Kenny Cobern, Chief Operations Officer

As Chief Operations Officer, Kenny Cobern oversees Lanyon's support and services functions while driving overall operational excellence.

Cobern has nearly 30 years of experience in executive management, having worked as interim Chief Executive Officer of Lanyon prior to his current role. Cobern has had six previous engagements with portfolio companies owned by Vista Equity Partners. Before joining Lanyon, Cobern worked as a private executive consultant guiding corporations through mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic, and operational initiatives. He has held positions such as Chief Executive Officer, President, and Executive Vice President with corporations in the consumer lending, financial services, software and professional services industries, both in the United States and internationally.

Cobern earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a double major in accounting and finance from Texas A&M University.

Anthony Miller, Senior Vice President of Product Management

As Senior Vice President of Product Management, Anthony Miller is responsible for Lanyon's overall product strategy. He works with Lanyon's clients around the world, providing them with tools and data to create smarter meetings, events, and corporate travel.

Miller has more than ten years of experience in software and services for the marketing, events, and hospitality industries, having worked with clients such as Cisco, Adobe, and Prior to joining Lanyon, he was Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at ACTIVE Network™ Business Solutions, a leading provider of event-marketing and Strategic Meetings Management technology. Miller regularly presents at conferences, tradeshows, and on webinars.

John Pulling, Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer, John Pulling leads all of Lanyon’s product functions, including product strategy, product development, and Cloud infrastructure management.

Pulling has more than 25 years of operational leadership experience in the enterprise software industry. Prior to joining Lanyon, he was Senior Vice President of Products for BigMachines. In this role, Pulling led the Company’s product and Cloud operations teams. The company was eventually acquired by Oracle. Before BigMachines, Pulling was Vice President of Product Management at Infor, where he was responsible for product strategy for their strategic edge applications such as its Customer Relationship Management (CRM), supply-chain management, enterprise-management, and product lifecycle-management solutions. Prior to Infor, he was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Provia Software, a provider of supply-chain software.

Pulling holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

JR Sherman, President

As President of Lanyon, JR Sherman guides the Company's growth strategy, drives key business development initiatives, and oversees its sales, and marketing functions. Sherman identifies opportunities to unlock material value for Lanyon's clients, which include 70 percent of the Fortune 500 companies; 80 percent of the Business Travel News Corporate Travel 100, and thousands of Small- to Mid-sized Businesses and associations around the world.

Sherman has 20 years of experience creating and delivering B2B marketing software solutions. Prior to joining Lanyon, he was Senior Vice President and Senior General Manager of ACTIVE Network™ Business Solutions Group, a leading provider of event-marketing and Strategic Meetings Management technology. In 2013, Sherman was named one of Business Travel News' top 25 most influential executives for his contributions to the industry. He has multiple degrees from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, including Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Finance and Marketing.

Roland Tanner, Managing Director, EMEA

As Managing Director, EMEA, Roland Tanner is responsible for Lanyon's strategy, success, and growth in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He is also responsible for Lanyon's global corporate development and business strategy, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Tanner has more than 26 years of experience in the hotel industry, having held senior-level management positions with major hotel companies and hospitality technology vendors throughout the United States and Europe. Prior to joining Lanyon, he was Vice President of Product Development with Pegasus Solutions, a leading provider of connectivity and Global Distribution System technology to nearly 100,000 hotels worldwide. Tanner also worked as Vice President of Information Technology with Utell Hotels and Resorts, and he was reservations director with both Forte and Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts.

Tanner has a bachelor's degree in Hotel Catering Management from the University of Portsmouth. He is based in Oxford, England.
